    First of all,

    I'd like to express my gratitude to VSL for this wonderful product and what makes it even better is that it is freešŸ˜Š

    I didn't really think much of the Synchron when the series first appeared but after fiddeling around with it for a while I must admit that I had a great time with it.  And not just me but my 6 year old had a barrel of monkeys with it too.  He absolutely loves those runs.  The interface is easy to understand and navigate.  The samples loaded lightning fast and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get it to crash.  The 6 year old couldn't make it crash either but he did manage to knock over a potted plant while trying. The sound is awesome.  Nothing less then what you'd expect from VSL.

    The experience I had with this wonderful software has caused me to reconsider my position on Synchron.  I may have to start investing in this miracle of virtual orchestration.

    And therein lies the problem.  I'm wondering if VSL gave this product away so that when they announce the silent stage products are now legacy we'll all be so enamored with Synchron we won't care.  I hope that's not the case but I can't deny the seductive power of Synchron.

    Just some of my thoughts.

    The Synchron Player and the Synchron Series are wonderful things :)
    A great out-of-the-box experience!

    Nonetheless, we are still supporting the VI player and we just recently released some new Silent Stage recorded instruments (Historical Instruments, Dimension Strings III). Releasing these samples for both players means more work for us, and I hope you can see we are commited to support both lines of products.

    So enjoy both, VI and the Synchron Series. You can also use both at the same time, especially when adding Synchron Stage reverb via MIR Pro to the VI samples.

  • Well that's reassuring. I've been tuning out for a while so I wasn't aware of the Silent Stage new releases. BTW Do you know if there will be a Synchron convoluted Reverb for the Vienna Suite? Is there one already?

  • The Synchron series is a great step forward for those who want an immediate setup out of the box. 

    However the VI series allows something not found in other libraries: the ability to start with the ultimate simplicity possible for samples based on raw sound, and build up an instrument of your own that does only what you need it to do.  It is totally flexible and has nothing in the way of this process, with all the really necessary controls right there on one screen.  The fact that you can do this with all the instruments recorded back to the beginning of the library is unique among sample libraries, and VSL needs to continue this for users who like to work directly with the raw sounds and create thier own designs of virtual instruments.  Other libraries force you to use the design that is embedded within, and all too often end up being limited because of that. The VI series is nearly infinite in possibilities because of the beautiful quality of the samples, the elegant design of the software and the ground-level-up basis of its structure.     


  • One of the reasons I dove into VSL libraries, and in the end, ended up purchasing over $10,000 worth of sample liberaries....was precisedly because VIPro impressed the hell out of me when I saw it demo'd on a video somewhere.  It is, as far as I'm concerned, currently the best-in-class symphonic instrument plugin.  Its so flexible its not always htat straightforward to figure out the best way to use it..but ultimately flexibility makes it possible to handle a lot of different situations, with total flexibility on keyswitching, CC control...the matrix...and then all the humanization features, etc.. it just has a lot of greawt features that are readily available for end users...  bar none..its the best in class right now.

    Downsides...  no instant gratification in terms of room and stage placement.  You need MIR or MIRx to do that.  Also, the UI itself could use as 2020 update, including HiDPi support among other things, but generally, ViPro is just really powerful and I think VSL is still committed to it from what they have been saying and the recent silent stage libraries would indicate some longevity...so its all good as far as I'm concerned.,

    I have been picking up some synchronized libraries as they ahve been on sale..just to try them out...and there are some things I do like about it..certainly its easier to quickly crank it up and start working out some ideas with nice sounding room placement and easy controls and no need to think about a matrix, etc..   But ultimately, I do feel that I havce more power and control with ViPro and since I have MirPro and all the rooms, I have more flexibility with that too...so... 


  • I wish I could say the same buddy,

     

    I downloaded BBO, updated my e-licencer usb, Synchron Player and everything to the latest updates and BBO still does not appear on my presets 

     

    I tried all possible fixes and still have about 1.5GB haunting my SSD

    I think I found the solution for you: You have not downloaded your license for the Big Bang Orchestra yet. 

    Please click on the Activation Code you received with your confirmation mail and download the license, and everything should be fine.
