  • Synchron Player Question

    Hi,

I'm pretty new to VSL libraries and I decided to go the Synchron route rather than VI Pro.

However I am having a small problem, which might well be basic to you guys, but I can't seem to figure out. I have the Special Editions Bundle 1-4 along with special edition 5. I have also just purchased the Woodwinds, (which I love).

My issue is this. I have the Synchron Player set to 'Enable Slots on MIDI Activity' so it only loads the samples when I use them. This works perfectly well on the woodwinds library.

However, with all the Speical Editions, Epic Orchestra 2 and the Big Bang library whenever I load an instrument it loads all the patches into memory immediatly (and they are not 'dimmed' in colour) like the woodwinds.

Obviously this is rather heavy on resources, and I'm wondering what is going wrong. I'm on a Mac using the latest version of Synchron player and it happens with both the stand-alone and the hosted version.

I'd be grateful if anyone could tell me why this might be happening.

    Thanks to all in advance,

    Michael

  • Hi mantrum,

Check those settings in the Synchron Player Preferences, this way all presets are forced to be loaded without any samples.

  • Hi Paul,

    Thanks for the reply.

I didn't have Force Unload Samples ticked. So the default for woodwinds is not to load samples, and the default for the other libraries must have been to do so. You need to force the unload.....

    Thanks for clarifying.

    Regards, Michael

  • Hi Michael,

    Thanks for the update.

Background Info: We have decided to create presets with deactivated slots for all bigger Synchron Series products like Synchron Strings, have all slots of the SYNCHRON-ized product presets loaded (as those are using way less RAM).
