  • eLicenser Errors with VEPro

    Often get alerts under VEPro 6 upon startup, saying that the software can't find the elIcenser key even though its plugged in at all times. usually after hitting "Retry", it then seems to find it. Can't make much sense of this since I also have the iLok plugged in right next to it and have never seen an error reported with that one, only with the eLicenser. Tried a few kesy all a year or two old or less, does it randomly with all of them. Using the latest eLicenser software as of today as well. Will have to test with VEPro 7 and see if it makes any differnce or not.

    Thanks for reporting. This seems to be a (luckily harmless) bug with the current version of the eLCC software, happens on my computers too, from time to time.

    Hope this can be resolved soon, we're relying on eLicenser/Steinberg to fix it.

  • If I may make an observation: iLoks have been known to have issues with USB3 ports on computers and I wonder if the Vienna key might be suffering the same problem? The usual remedy is to use a powered USB hub between the dongle and computer port. Doesn't matter if it's a Mac or Windows machine.


  • The iLok key has never had an issue on my computer, and I've had a few of them. Only the Steinberg eLicenser keys.
