  • Cannot export with Cubase while VEPro 7 runs on Thunderbolt 3 attached slave

My VEPro on slave plays back well but cannot export

yet it does just fine when running on the host.

    So here is my setup:

Host: Lenovo Thinkpad P1 Gen 1, Xeon E-2176m 6c12t, 64g of ram, elicenser with cubase and VEPro

Slave: Intel Nuc8i7beh, Core i7-8559u 4c8t, 64g of ram, elicenser with 2nd VEPro license

Connection: one pluggable Thunderbolt 3 0.7m cable directly from the Slave to the Host, thunderbolt Ethernet adapter was natively supported on both devices, the host's thunderbolt ipv4 address is set to 192.168.20.1 and the slave was set to 192.168.20.2

    So here is my problem:

Finding the slave was easy as ever, the IP address simply shows up in the host's VEPro plugin. Playback was fine as well, no delays at all.

When I press export in cubase with all my instruments loaded in my slave, the estimate time starts at 1hr and increase rather than decrease. It goes up and up towards 4hrs and then 6hrs, with 0% progress. CPU, ram and Network usage on the slave is high.

With the slave disconnected, the same issue still remains.

But when I run VEPro on my host with the same instruments loaded, the issue cannot be reproduced.

It may be a simple fix but I wonder if some good people could inform me what sort of newbie problem i have set myself in? This is my first time running VEPro on a slave so I suppose I should find some answers in the manual?
