  • Using the Kontakt Player in VEP 7

    Hi

How can I use the Kontakt player the same way as VI libraries in VEP 7. I have created two instances in the vep server called strings and voices. The strings instance contains two vi pro instuments on midi channels 1 and 2 - a solo violin and a solo viola. The voices instance contain two instances of the kontakt player as a plugin respectively loaded with soprano and tenor patches on midi channels 1 and 2.

In dorico I have four instuments (or tracks) assigned to violin, viola, soprano and tenor respectivly. In the dorico play section create and load as an instance of vep and connect it to Strings in the server. I can then assign the violin and viola (in Dorico) to channels 1 and 2 of this instance of vep and the instuments play as expected.

I then create another vep instance in dorico and connect it to Voices in the server. This is where things break down. I can only assign the soprano and tenor tracks (in Dorico) to midi channel 1 of this vep  - midi channel 2 doesn't play anything.

So my question is, how to I get Kontakt to behave the same way as the vip instuments. Is it possible to have mulitple instances of Kontakt player loaded into a single instance of the vep server in the same way as I can load mulitple vip instruments into a single instance of the vep server. Or will I need a separate vep server instance for each Kontakt player patch I want to use?

    Thanks, Colin
