  • VEP 7 LLC error

    Hello,

I really hope someone can help out. I am on Mac OS 10.11.6 with latest VEP and everytime I start the program I get the following error. The only way to get past is to restart and re-install the E-Licenser software. Considering how more frequently VEP 7 crashes, this is a major stall in workflow and very frustraiting.

    Hi,

Please uninstall your current eLicenser Control Center and try with this 32 bit version of eLicenser, that should solve it until a new update is available.

Click "Maintenance" to update your license database.

    Best,
    Paul

  • Thanks so much Paul, this is so far, working great.

I have another issue however, whenever I open and instrument in a seperate window, all these small white pop ups appear on all my screens. Any idea what it could be? Thanks again for your great support.

  • Hi Paul - What do you suggest for those running Catalina? The 32-bit version will not run in this OS.

We have corresponded on this issue before, and while it's nice that there is a workaround I reiterate that this is an unacceptable situation. To have one's professional tools disabled by a copy protection scheme simply should never happen. The fact that this has been a known issue for several months and still there is no fix makes it even worse.

Please get this fixed!!! or move to iLok, or do whatever Native Instruments does. But don't ignore the problem.

    Thanks

    Steve

  • Hi Steve,

    Thanks for your open words.

We are working with the possibilities we have, and we rely on our partner elicenser/Steinberg to offer improvements and fixes.

As far as I know, the Steinberg Team is working with high pressure on finding the culprit (not that Cubase 10.5 has been successfully released).

    Thanks for your patience.

    Best,
    Paul

  • Paul - I find it odd that this issue seems to effect only a small number of users (otherwise the uproar would be very loud !). I have had my Vienna key for a long time. Are there any technological differences between older and newer keys?
