  • Audio problem - PC master Server DELL

    Hello,

First of all to better understand my problem here is my configuration,

    Master PC:

    • Cubase pro 10
    • VEP 7
    • Windows 10
    • intel core i7 6900K 3.20GHz
    • 64. GB of ram
    • Sound card Scarlett focusrite 2i2 3rd gen

    SERVEUR :

    • Dell poweredge r620 server 2x Xeon E5-2680 3.50GHz 16 CORE
    • 128 GB DDR3
    • 240G SSD (Windows server 2012)
    • 4 Tera SSD Raid0
    • Audio: ASIO4ALL driver

4 network cables come out of the network plugs from the server to a hub (1gbit), all the cards are set to 1Gbits network flow speed.

The master PC is connected to the server, everything works perfectly except in terms of sound, when I play notes or when they are read directly in cubase, the sound stutters, there is no creaking, but sometimes stuttering .

So I looked on the master PC and the server in windows performance, for the processor, the ram, the hard drive, or the network, no peak at the time when the sound stutters, so it is not hardware, j have the impression that it comes from VEP (I'm not 100% sure), or a latency problem, but no matter how many tests I do, I can't find anything satisfactory, I'm starting to despair ...

Does anyone here have an idea? thank you

  • I had a similar issue - You should look at the switch (hub) make sure every port is 1GB often only the upload port is. Once I upgraded to 1GB all port switch, the issue was resolved.
