  • E-licenser Insurance question.

    Hi All,

Today I had a little problem with an e-licenser. It was sticking out out of the side or my laptop and it got knocked. Now whilst the e-licenser was not broken, now the blue plastic casing/surround is a bit wobbly.

At first I was worried that I had broken it, but it still works. Now the wobbly e-licenser was only for one of my VePro 7 licences, and not for my main VSL library - phew ! So I'll just get a new key and move the licence over.

I have the insurance policy on my main VSL library e-licenser, without it I wouldn't be a VSL library customer), but this lead me onto the following question:

If this had been my main VSL library key, would I have been able to transfer my licences onto a new key and also move the insurance over to a new 'not-wobbly' e-licenser ? Or would I have been better off waiting for the key to break and then claim on the insurance ? To me it would make sense to allow the insured key to be substitued, as it would mean that an insurance claim would be much less likely.

Obviously, this is more of an academic question, but I would be interested to know the answer.....

    Thanks in advance,

    Michael.

    Hi Michael,

Sorry to hear about that accident. There are quite a few taped keys out there, I believe.

    1) You can always move licenses to another key, if you can still see them in your eLCC software.

    2) A VPP license behaves like any other license, you can move it anytime.

    3) The VPP works once, so you'd be better off moving your licenses to another key and keep that key protected.

    Best,
