  • Technical problem with velocity x-fade

Hi, I have a technical problem and I need your help.
With the vst Vienna Ensamble I need to connect the "velocity x-fade" automation to the pianoroll. (it is shown in the photo attached).

My problem is that I can only connect the first channel (There are 16 in all). How can I connect the other 15 channels too?

    - Is there a way to connect all 16 channels to the x-fade velocity, so you have a unique general control?
    or
    - Is there a way to view the x-fade velocity of all 16 channels independently?
    Thank you

  • Welcome Pierluigi,

Each channel is connected on a separate MIDI Channel, so you can send CC2 automation data to each channel separately. You can also undock all VI instances in Vienna Ensemble to see all interfaces at the same time, but I don't think that would be very helpful.

  • Thank you Paul.

I usually work with more than an instrument in each istance.

    For example i work with

    -violins on channel 1

    -violas on channel 5.

    -cellos on channel 9

    -basses on channel 13

I would like to see the automation "velocity x-fade" for each of these channels in the pianoroll, INDEPENDENT between them.

  • A thought crossed my mind... In my DAW (Samplitude) when working on cc data, I have to take care, that I see in the pianoroll just the notes of the instrument I'm working on. Helps this?

I'm not sure I quite understand what you're trying to do but this sounds more like a DAW issue than Vienna.

In my DAW (Sonar Platinum) there is a drop down menu in the piano roll which allows me to view each or all CC data after I've recorded it..

Instead of assigning Vienna to individual channels try assigning them to "omni"? but remember whatever you do to the Vel X fade will affect all the instances unless you record and bounce them one at a time.

  • Hi Pierluigi,

I'm not a FL Studio user, but are you sure that you are sending that automation MIDI information to only that MIDI Channel in VE Pro?

    Best,
    Paul
