  • Strange effect (phaser, double) on samples, please help

    Hello!

I am using VSL again after a long break and testing things with Vienna Instruments Pro. My problem is that I get strange effects randomly...it sounds like the input is doubled or a phaser is enabled.

Here's a short test of trumpet ensemble +, I just play an A note. I get the same effect with other instruments too...it does not sound natual, but with a strange additional effect.

    SL Studiologic Grand
    Sonar Professional

Any ideas? Sounds like a setting is wrong or an effect is enabled.

  • Hi LeanderAT,

Could it be that you are somehow duplicating your MIDI input?

I'd suggest to disconnect all keyboards and MIDI inputs and see what the playback of a single MIDI note in your sequencer does, then add your MIDI sources one by one.

    Best,

  • Thanks! I had a similar problem with my old keyboard. I had to disable certain effects to play midi on my floppy disk...yes, I also thought it sounded like two identitcal sounds played at the same time...something is doubled.

My Studiologic SL Grand has a default preset with four parts that can be split. I don't know why...USB1, USB2, midi 1, midi 2. Normally, I connect the keyboard via midi, but because of a new audio interface I use USB now.

The four parts of the default preset all have the same range and velocity. Maybe two inputs are used for whatever reason.

I will try to disable all but 1 to see if it fixes my problem.
