  • There is no VIPro vst3 version in Cubase' s plugins manager

    Hi all,

When I try to create an instrument track with VI Pro in Cubase  9; 10; 10.5 whatever the version is, I can't find its vst3 version.

This vst3 version (///) is not in the plugins manager.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Edmond

  • There is no VST3 version of VI

  • Right. The only VSL software with both a VST2 and a VST3 version is Vienna Ensemble Pro.

Vienna Instruments Pro has only one version. It is VST2.

  • Is it still this way? I can't see VIPRO in my VST3 folder, in the Mac, but the page dedicated to the product in VSL web site says that is it VST3 compatible. Which is right?

    "AU/VST/VST3/AAX Native plug-in or stand-alone".

  • VE is VST3, unlike VEPro, I cannot understand why..?

  • VEP is also available as VST3 plugin.

  • I'm sorry, I wrote VE instead of VI in my last messages but at the beginning I just spoke of Vienna Instrument Pro.

...and it is strange the Pro version, much more powerful than the VI version is not vst3.

  • VST3 doesn't suport Program Change, so if using it you'd lose that controller source

I'm sorry, but I exchanged an E for an I (now corrected). My question should have been referring to Vienna Instruments Pro. The info page says that it is also VST3.

     =😮

That would make all my custom programs unusable. I'm horrified that Dorico is going to only support VST3.

EDIT: I found this answer from someone at Steinberg. They say program changes can be received. Can you clarify this point? As you can guess, it is quite shocking.
