    Anyone running Reason 11 in VEP 7? For those who don't know, R11 is now ReWire-free but only comes ported to VST or AU, so it can't be used with ProTools. Hoping to hear that it actually will work in the VEP shell, and if it's better/easier than using R10 with ReWire.

    It does not work in VEP7 as it turns out, for anyone wondering.

    I am also experiencing VEPRO 7 not seeing the rack plugin. It works fine on my Mac in ProTools,but no go w/ the VST on the PC.

    When I first posted, Reason 11 wasn't ported to AAX yet so I was hoping for a workaround through VEP. Now that it's Pro Tools friendly, it doesn't matter as much. (To me, anyway!) Still curious why it wouldn't work.

    I wonder why VEPRO doesn't recognize the VST. Trying to get an answer from either company is pretty much a waste of time in my experience. Takes absolutley forever to get a response, and I'm sure it's much worse now with being in the middle of the apocalypse!

    Hi all,

    The Reason Rack Plug-in only installs as VST3, whereas Vienna Ensemble Pro can only host VST2 plug-ins at this point.

    The Reason Rack AU plug-in (on Macs obviously) is recognised by VE Pro, but only opens a blank window instead of its GUI and is therefore not operational in VE Pro 7 either.

    I have already notified Reason Studio about this!

    @gsrokmix: I could not find a message from you in this matter - I just found one support request from 2017 in our archives, which was in fact replied to within 24 hours.

    Thanks for looking into the issue & contacting RS! Please be sure to update the thread when / if you get any info.

    I guess you guys never saw my other questions, hence why I  never got answers! :)

      So a year and a half later VEP and Reason Rack 12 have this same problem it shows up as a blank plug in, in VEP. 

    This is some sad stuff.. :(

    what about the opposite i'm trying to figure out how to get VE7 to open in reason 12 any luck with that?

    Hey,

    you can load/open VE/VE Pro 7 in Reason 12 and you can also send the audio to separate outputs from one Rack Plugin (via mix channels), but you can only feed one MIDI signal to one Rack Plugin in Reason so unfortunately the DAW itself doesn't offer all necessary functions (multiple MIDI outputs to multitimbral instruments/plugins) to work effectively with VE Pro.
