  • differences of IRs of the SYNCHRONized libraries

    Hi!

I fooled around with using different IRs with the same instrument *. Besides the differences in positioning left and right I also noticed further changes in quality. Different frequency spectra are more or less prominent. Also IRs in extrem positions like tubular bells wash out the sound.

Is this only the room acoustics or have the IRs been differently recorded or processed? I'm not sure if I hrea or imagine diffferences according to the pitch range of the corresponding instruments.

[*] I tried to position two snare drums to opposite sides by simple selecting different sides.

I wanted to spell "washed out". My intention was to descibe the effect that using the tubular bells IR on the snare samples had.

The result is rather unusable. The Bösendorfer IR us much better. Given your explanation I expect the EQing to be less drastic and as a result a viable option for putting arbitrary instruments to the left (or right if you swap the stereo channels).
