I have already posted this here in audio, but since I finished a video of the acual score I thought I might mention it. I am attempting to interest a conductor in performing it live, though of course that is not the norm for composers these days....

  • Had such a good time listening to the whole of your Romantic Symphony.
Well written and rendered — just that harp in the 1st Movement, sounds a bit loud in the mix from here.
    Great effort. Bravo.

  • This is weird, Bill. I happen to be listening to the Romantic Symphony right now on Spotify! I'd switch over to your video so I could follow along on the score but I have to maintain at least the facade that I'm working; I can listen to music in the "background" as long as I at least have something work related on the screen. Guess that goes for the VSL website, too! Bye...

That is funny Tom.  Fabio you may be right on that harp. In preparing this I also noticed the cellos might be too low overall in level. I guess if you hear something often enough you will notice more and more things to be corrected but after awhile it becomes too difficult... this notated score was an absolute nightmare to do typos and corrections on.  Each time I thought it was correct I would find another five!!! ðŸ˜¤

  • Well William, you may have out did yourself with this Tour de force. I really don't know what to say. I mean everything you post on the forum is guaranteed to something worth listening to. I thought the organ in the last movement was a nice touch. I didn't see that coming. It was refreshing to hear in a Romantic context. Was this done in one recording or by separate movements?

  • thanks for all those nice comments Jasen - the movements I recorded separately, though I do have one large MIDI file
