  • J;S.BACH - Cantata BWV 170 - Vergnügte Ruh, beliebte Seelenlust

    Hi,

In these troubled times, it seemed to me a good idea to offer some music here to forget for a few moments the stress and deep concerns of our daily lives. What could be more suitable than one of Bach's most beautiful Arias: "Vergnügte Ruh, beliebte Seelenlust".

    Enjoy.

NEW VERSION mixed in Mirpro :

  • Thank you!

    very beautiful

    maurizio - from Rome :-(

  • Thanks, Philip, for this gesture to all of us, for the beautiful music and the beautiful performance.

  • Thanks Maurizio and MMKA for listening.

i have downloaded a new version, less reverberated. Same link.

    Very best

    Philippe

  • Philippe it sounds great. Such a calm piece,  very soothing.  Can you list the VSL instruments?

  • Hi William, Dimension strings, violin solo, violin solo 2, oboe d'amore, English horn and harpsichord Best Philippe

  • Oboe d'amore and English horn have such a rich tone together, also the Dimension with solo strings.

  • Well you can never go wrong with Bach. I'm a little embarrassed to admit it but I even like Wendy Carlos "Hooked on Bach." Opps! Did I say that out loud? But what beautiful renditions you've recorded here. TBH if I were to hear this on the local Classical station, the word, "Samples" would never have crossed my mind. Very well done but the lows do sound a little thin at least in my car stereo. Wonderful pieces and thanks for sharing.

    Enjoy !

  • Hello Philippe,

    Congrats for your wonderful rendition!

I prefer your MIR Pro mix that leads me to a question: how your first mix was made?

As an owner of MirX bundle and Vienna Suite Pro, I was wondering if MIR Pro can leverage greatly mixing results (I'm using only VSL instruments and don't want to place instruments elsewhere than MirX default ones)...

    Thanks for your answer!

Prenez soin de vous (take care) !

    Best regards,

    Gil.

  • Hi Gilp;

    thanks for listening.

The first rendering was mixed using Altiverb. It was a quick done version, you can do much better with Altiverb ...

For the Mirpro version, i used the unusual "foyer" venue, The huge reverberation of 6 sec has been reduced around 2 sec , dry/wet -24%

    Best.
