I put a track I just did with VSL on soundcloud and they removed it immediately because they think it was played by the Boston Symphony and I stole it!

    Congratulations, VSL!

Here is the music without Soundcloud:

    Beethoven Fifth Symphony 1st Movement

It is using Dimension Strings/Chamber Strings/Solo Strings and VI winds/timpani in Vienna Konzerthaus/MIRacle

    Hi Bill,

it happened to me a few times too ðŸ˜ƒ. A simple request to souncloud and this will be solved very quickly ...

    Best

    Phili

  • I'm far too irritable to write them and wait for their reply - I immediately deleted all my tracks from Soundcloud and deleted my account.

What would Beethoven have done?  He would have slammed the piano lid down and stormed out of the room!!!  (If he had been in their room)

And congratulations, William! This annoying experience shows apart from the quality of VSL, also your quality as a very good performer of sampled music.

I remember that you had the same kind of experience about 1 or 2 years ago. Then you published a performance of Beethoven 5, first movement, with the Synchron Strings 1. I tried to find that version on the internet, but I didn't find it. Did you delete it? I think it was on Youtube. When it should be possible, I should like to compare the 2 versions.

In the meantime we are privileged people to be able to work with so great, beautiful and extensive library and all the tools with it to make music at such a high level. And we can share it with other lovers of this kind of stuff.
I'm grateful for that. Just a personal feeling.

  • thanks MMKA I really agree with your idea about VSL library!

Since I've been more confined to my studio lately, I've been able to go over some of these older files.  It's fun to hear them especially with the new versions of VI and MIR.  In fact it becomes tempting to start tweaking things and I probably shouldn't.  One can endlessly work on this stuff...

  • Congratulations on your ban William! Quite a feather in your cap!
