  • Redundant files from installation

The folder where I have all my Synchron instruments installed has in it a folder named Epic Orchestra 2.0. (Let's call it top level.)

Inside that folder are two more folders (second level), one named Big Bang Orchestra and the other named Epic Orchestra 2.0.

Inside that second level Big Bang Orchestra folder is a set of BBO files - BBO_00 through BBO_15 plus BBO_Patches, all with the .vsynvolume extension. Also inside the Big Bang Orchestra folder is ANOTHER (third level) Big Bang Orchestra folder with all the same BBO-xx.vsynvolume files.

Now back to the second level, with the Big Bang Orchestra and Epic Orchestra 2.0 folders (and nothing else). Inside that second level Epic Orchestra 2.0 folder is a set of EpicOrch files - EpicOrch2_01 through EpicOrch2_41_SmartSph, all with the .vsynvolume extension. Also in that second level Epic Orchestra 2.0 folder is third level Epic Orchestra 2.0 folder which ALSO contains all the EpicOrch2_xxx.vsynvolume files.

So I have two copies of a lot of BBO and Epic Orchestra 2 files. This is kind of a big deal, because the BBO files are about 1.3 GB, and Epic Orch files are close to 75 GB! This is a lot of space to waste and a lot of wasted backup time.

So, my question, if your head doesn't hurt too much.... How do I find out which of these I can safely delete?

  • Another related question...

I have all the Synchron-ized Special Editions except the two Plus editions. Does it add anything at all to keep Epic Orchestra 2? I can see a reason to keep Big Bang, because it's a handy and quick all in one, but Epic Orchestra 2.0 seems to be just a "light" version of the SE products.

    Hi vanceen,

You can delete all duplicated data - and then make sure that the one folder that stayed is assigned in your Synchron Player Preferences => Database.

The Epic Orchestra 2.0 provides some pretty nice "goodies" from our Synchron Series (Synchron FX Strings, Synchron Percussion, Synchron Power Drums...)... I'd keep it 😊

    Best,
