  • Is there a way to change the visibility of MIR inputs?

Can I hide inputs that I don't want to see at the moment?

  • What's wrong with the existing "Hide"-feature? :-)

I was hoping for some kind of group hide feature that I had overlooked, hiding/showing sections.

  • Oh, I see. Yes, the Group features of legacy Vienna MIR were withdrawn from MIR Pro. We had some quarrels  about this topic internally, but the software engineers' POV won (like it always does, in the end :-P ...).

The "suggested" way to achieve grouped behaviour (in the sense of: linked parameters) is to select all target Instruments and press "Alt" while changing any parameter. This is valid for the "Hide"-status of a MIR Icon, too.

Alternatively you can change the behaviour in MIR Pro's Preferences: When you switch on "Auto-Group selected channels" you don't have to press "Alt" any longer. ... that's kind of a dangerous setting, though, because you will always have to make sure that there aren't any Icons selected inadvertently.

In VE Pro there are savable "Selection Groups" which also affect MIR Pro; they might be helpul for repeatedly used grouping targets (although they still have to be re-selected each and every time).

.... yes, it's a bit cumbersome in any case, that's why we plan to bring back a proper Parameter Grouping/Linking implementation with the next generation of MIR. ;-)

The simple fact you plan a "next generation" made my day 😊

😄 ... thanks for your support! Yes, it's "semi-official" already that we work on a considerable update for the MIR engine (also regarding the IRs themselves!). It's too early for any serious release announcements, though.

Be prepared! 😉 (... and stay healthy.)
