solo violin extra long sustained note?

Hi,

I am trying to find a solo violin articulation that will hold a note out for a total of ~13 seconds.  I am using Vl-sus-vib in Cubase, with a retard that goes from 40 down to 10 at the end (for that one note).  I can get about 8 seconds, but not 13.  Is there any solo violin articulation that will hold a note indefinately?  Thanks.

If you don't need a long note in the score, I would suggest you to cut the note at the bow change. Use the shortest space between the two halves of the original note.

Hi Zaffer,

if you are using the performance legato transition you can simulate a bow-change by using the MIDI CC 64 (sustain-pedal) to retrigger the note. This also gives you control when the rebowing should happen.
