  • MIRx vs. MIR Pro 24

I'm a little confused about MIRx.

I have MIR Pro and all the Roompacks. When I run VI Pro in the standalone mode, and select the Reverb tab (Advanced Mode) and then MIRx, I get the message that MIRx is not available.

I've made sure that my MIR Roompacks data folder (the one with the *.vmi files) is included in the Directory Manager.

MIR Pro works fine both in VE7 and as a plug-in in my DAW.

Is MIRx a separate product? If not, what could be going wrong to make MIRx unavailable to VI Pro?

  • Thank you, Dietz!

  • Still one more question.

I've looked at the materials. Is it correct to say that MIR Pro (with or without MIRx Mode) isn't available using VI Pro Standalone?

This isn't a huge problem, but I would like to be clear if that is a limitation.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Although I wouldn't call that a "limitation" necessarily ;-), you got it right: MIR Pro is a plug-in which has to be instantiated in a host. In VSL's eco-system that would be Vienna Ensemble (which offers a stand-alone version, too!), or you simply use your DAW.

    Kind regards,
