  • Preset Path on Windows

    hi,

I have 3 of the Synchron Pianos now.

a friend gave me some custom presets.

I want to try them out.

    I have Windows 10.

would someone please help me do this?

I read the manual. I have tried adding the presets a few ways.

    and its not working.

when I click on a preset, Synchon Player closes.

would someone please tell  me step by step how to do this?

    any help greatly appreciated.   :)

    Charlie

  • Do you both have the same player and instrument version?  Seems unlikely the presets would break, but probably worth checking if no other ideas.

  • thank you.

he has a Mac. its the same instrument version. no sure about the Player version.

  • is there anybody who knows how to do this? please?

  • Run the Vienna Synchron Pianos player.  At the top right of the graphical interface, there is a row of five icons. One of them looks like a gear. If you click on that, it will open a window with three tabs in it. Click on the tabl called "Database".

In that window, at the top, there is a field labelled "User Presets Folder". That is the default location for the *.vsynpreset files that contain your custom presets. Paste them there.

After that, when you click on the folder icon in Synchron Pianos (last on the right) it will open a menu which contains "Factory" and "User". Your presets will be under "User".

  • I realized that there was something else I should have added.

OK, find the path shown in the "User Preset Folder" field. INSIDE that folder there is a subfolder called "VSL" and inside that subfolder will be one or more subfolders depending on what products you have. On my system, there are two, labelled "Vienna Synchron Player" and "Vienna Synchron Pianos". Inside the "Vienna Synchron Pianos" folder is yet another folder called "Presets".

That is where your Synchron Piano custom preset (*.vsynpreset) files go.

Sorry, this is not as complex as I'm making it sound.

  • wow, thank you very much.

    I will try it!!

  • I tried it.

    it did not work.

the Player just closes when I click on the custom preset.

  • Heh what a nightmare.  If it was me I'd just ask him for a screenshot of the mix and punch it in manually.

OK, clearly the problem is not with adding presets, it's something else.

    Can you load Factory presets?

  • Hi chasmanian,

Could you please send me a few screenshots, so I can check what's going on? => support@vsl.co.at

Please include the presets as well, as a zip file.

    Thanks,
    Paul

  • Hi everyone!

Try following workaround: Make sure all presets don't have any special characters in it like for example Umlaute (ä, ö, ü, ...). These cause the current version of the player to crash. We are working on a fix and will release it soon; in the meantime please rename the preset in the file explorer.

Thanks for reporting and helping to track this down!

    Best, Ben
