Hello everybody,

In addition to our piano special offer, our incredible team somehow pulled it off to add another great option to the existing 4 pianos in our Synchron Pianos Series!

Check out the Videos and Audio Demos directly on the Bösendorfer Imperial product page!

More to come!

Standard Library: 210 EUR (regular: 285 EUR)
Full Library: 395 EUR (regular: 540 EUR)

All the best from Vienna!

Paul,

There might be misunderstanding on my side, but based on this announcement, Bosendorfer is part of Synchron Pianos Series, and it is not (yet). The Synchron Pianos Series web page still lists only 4 pianos.
Will Bosendorfer be added shortly as 5th piano to the bundle, or will it stay separate?

Hi Vlad,

New products always come with a dedicated introductory price, and once that introductory period is over, they are added to the corresponding bundle. Same system for the Bösendorfer Imperial.

You will be best of purchasing at the introductory price.

Best,
Paul

Dagnabit! Something else I really want to spend my money on. The Bösendorfer Imperial is my favorite piano. Would it work on a standard HDD? My SSD isn't big enough for the full library.

Hi suihcteg,

Hehe.
I'd say, you want a new SSD first, THEN the Bösendorfer Imperial.

Paul

Future wish:

It is great that everybody now can play three different Pianos in three different Positions of the hall.

But for future (unexpected) Piano recordings I hope that VSL chooses the center Position from now on.

Thank you for great releases!

Hi LAJ,

Glad you like our Synchro Pianos!

There is a "Concert Centered" preset included for the both pianos that have not been recorded in the center of the hall(Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial). You will see that these are mainly paning adjustments in close and mid mics.

So this is very much a matter of perception, and you can easily adjust any "conductor's perspective" preset like that.

Best,
Paul

Hello Paul,

what is the big difference to vienna imperial? Is it worthwhile at all to switch from imperial to synchronized Bösendorfer?

Hi Georgy,

It's a completely new recording of a new instrument, with multiple microphones (like all other Synchron Pianos).
Check out the videos right here, with more in the pipeline :)

And here are all current audio demos

Paul

Hello Paul,

unfortunately I can't compare it. Are there differences in sound and sensitivity? Is it more realistic like the vienna imperial?, or do the other functions only help me when I want to produce and record music?

Hi Georgy,

It is a different approach... more flexibility in the mix, but also all of our experience we gained in the last 10 years, plus a custom-built sample robot that surpasses the built-in CEUS technology (for our purposes!).

Paul

Hello Paul,

Congratulations for your new piano product!

As I am (like many others here I suppose) very tempted to get one of the 3 Synchron grand pianos (Bösendorfer Imperial, Steinway & Sons D-274 and Yamaha CFX), would it be possible to have the same piece music (a duration of 30 seconds would be enough) to hear from these 3 pianos using for each standard library (e.g.  Decca Tree mics) and full library (with other mics obviously) mics  Decca (resulting in 6 audio files) please?

Thanks for your great products and take care!

Best regards,

Gil.

The new piano is phenomenal. I'm a long-time user of Vienna Imperial, which I still love, but I'm very impressed by the new Imperial. I'll be using it for a long time as well, no doubt.

Cubase (OS agnostic). Various VSL bits and pieces.

Hi everybody,

We're really happy that this new piano gets such a friendly welcome!

A Synchron Pianos comparison video is on the way... should be available tomorrow or on friday!

Best,
Paul

Hello Paul,

I have bought it today.

1.

i think the new bösendorfer has much less bass than the imperial. From C3 on it sounds rather flat against the imperial.

2.

I also find the attack in player mode too strong. You notice that especially when you play the moonlight sonata. It sounds so hacked off.

3.

And with the key noise you can't hear any difference. You can turn the knob up or down and nothing happens.

Which would also interest me why the presets always have such a high pedal volume. That almost hurts my ears. No piano has such a loud pedal noise. It hisses like a steam lock.

Hi Georgy,

Congrats!

1) Do you want to post an example? I don't hear that...

2) That's always a matter of taste.. I'd try to adjust the volume of the close mics... does that help?

3) Which knob is that?

Luckily, you can always adjust the pedal volume. Also, make sure that half-pedaling is ONLY activated if you actually have a pedal that works with half-pedaling (Preferences), otherwise it will indeed always be the loudest.

Best,
Paul
