  • VEPro stopped connecting to slaves

    Hi all.

I thought I had a bad gigabit switch, so I replaced it. There is still no communication to my two PC slaves with Pro Server 7. What I eventually discovered was it all comes on line when I power off and on the switch. It works fine if the new gigabit switch or the old switch is power cycled. But I have to do that when ever I start a session. Anyone have an idea what's going on with my system? It has always worked great up until this last update the other night. The update could've been a while ago, I've just started back after some down time. Thanks for any help.

  • Hi Walter,

Thank you for posting this. We have had the same issue for months now and VSL is ignoring the issue both on forums and email support.

I've tried your workaround and it works here too so thank you. You done more than VSL's support has in months of dumping their heads in the sand.

Hopefully someone at VSL is secretly working on a fix. We are using 4 separate master/slave setups and all 4 stopped seeing the server instances when we upgraded to VEPro 7. We're using routers and switches on all setups and have tried a million things and read the manual about 10 times. We are now looking to abandon the software all together as we're wasting more time than we're supposed to save.

Maybe VSL has stopped caring because they know 128gb masters are now relatively cheap and VEPro's days are numbered. We wished we'd have stayed with version 6 for remainder of this software's life.

Please let us know if you find any solutions. I guess we're beta testing this together.

  • Hi guys,

@Walter: Just found your conversation with Andreas from our support team (every day since you contacted us on June 14th).

@fbeauvaisc: I know there has been a delay, but I didn't get a reply from you after telling you about the necessity of running the Bonjour Service. If this service (which is installed with VE Pro) is not running, server discovery will not work. I should have thought of it right away, but this service is usually not touched by anyone.

    Best,
    Paul
