  • [SOLVED] Cubase 10.5.12, VEP 6.5.18932 odd fatal crashes

    Hi,

I'm running Cubase 10.5.12 on a 2019 iMac, 128 GB RAM, Mojave 10.14.6. I've built a pretty large template in VEP 6, about 65 GB, nothing disabled, tried it both coupled and decoupled. In general it works well, but I've had three odd crashes that are repeatable:

    1. Embertone Blakus cello. Messing around in the GUI (vibrato, for instance) cause a fatal crash.

    2. Spitfire Chamber Strings-changing the mic balance in the GUI cause a fatal crash.

    3. In Reaktor 6, messing with the GUI in Blocks created a fatal crash.

I experimented with starting a blank Cubase session, adding a single instance of VEP 6 and tried these libraries-no crash, so it clearly has something to do with how I've built my template or a limitation of how many instances of VEP 6 can be used, but why in the GUI each time? I have 19 instances in my template at this point.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Never mind-it was a bug in Blakus cello, and assigning more RAM to Kontakt solved the SCS problem.
