I'm quite a new user of VSO but I don't think this is 'operator error'.
Every time I select the Solo full range bassoon preset in Vienna Smart Orchestra XP, the next time I open Cubase this setting has been forgotten and it defaults to the Solo full range string setting.
Using Cubase 10.5.20 in Windows 10/ 1909

Hi,
Trying to reproduce this here, to no avail. What exactly are the steps?
Which software versions (numbers, please)? Latest versions are available here (you should use those).

Hi Paul, this is what I'm doing.
I'm opening an instrument instance in Cubase of the Synchron player, loading preset Smart Orchestra XP
Choosing Instrument from dimension list: Solo Full Range/Woodwinds/Bassoon XP and record something in Cubase.
Save Cubase project, quit and reopen. Open the Synchron instrument via the Cubase inspector.
It is now showing set as: Solo Full Range/Strings+Celeste/Violins
Richard.
Latest versions of everything! Player 11.1.1906

Hi,
Confirmed. Seems to be the Dimension Controller that is not saved/recalled correctly.
Will be fixed, thanks for your input!

Hi,
One quick workaround: If you actually move your CC4 controller at the start of your song, then the preset will pick up right away.

Great, thanks!

Hi,
This is actually a bit of a tricky situation, as CC4 could also be controlling something else at the same time....
We are just discussing this here... Not sure if a change might not break other things...
But for now, that workaround should keep you afloat!

Well the CC4 workaround seems to work fine here for now, thanks.
As a new Vienna user, I'm highly impressed with the Synchron player and the VSO sounds, and now the customer service too! I ordered Synchron-ized Essential Volume 1 on Friday and am really looking forward to using it. (I got it at Time and Space and am yet to receive my serial number.) Should have bought it here!
Anyway, thanks again for the help!

Hi Paul,
Just an update to report that this issue seems to persist in the 1.1.1937 update.
Richard.

Hi Richard,
Sorry, I should have updated you here:
We are sticking to the existing system for now, as this is the very first time this minor flaw has caused any troubles.
Best, Paul
