    Hello to the whole VSL team

    I wanted to contact you to give you a small suggestion. I have been using some of your libraries for a few years, in particular the solo VIs of which I keep praising the merits and the high quality. It is a real and constant pleasure to play with a simple flute, to discover the Heckelphone, through the clarinet or glass instruments. And as your solo range is quite wide, including less usual instruments, I wanted to offer you a new one. Namely the Kora, this African harp with a captivating, deep and warm sound. It is an instrument of which there is not much to my knowledge of virtual variation. One of them is of decent quality but a little limited. There you go, so I just wanted to send this suggestion to you because I'm sure your sample quality and engine will do wonders. Certainly I imagine that you have many other priority projects. But just in case ...

    Referring to competitor's products is not appreciated in this forum, but I guess that by citing products not covered by VSL could not be of bad taste.

    Good koras can be found in collections like Native Instruments' West Africa, UVI's World Suite 2, and Sonic Zest dedicated library. I've seen others around, but I think these are the most up-to-date and detailed I can think of (and I'd be happy to know if there are others around).

    I'm not sure VSL will sooner or later release non-European instruments, a bit off their original mission. In any case, I would love if they further expanded their interests more in time than in space, since we are still missing a lot of instruments from the Baroque and Classic period, and I doubt many quality developers will ever devote time to them.

    Precisely I had not dared to mention names in principle, even if the intention would have been good since it is not really a question here of comparing a VSL library with another identical competitor. And even personally, I have always thought that we could evoke competition without harming the brand concerned when we have it both ways.
    In this case I have that of N.I which is rather good quality but does not allow (in any case I did not find) to play without groove, which is painful.
    I don't know the others mentioned, although I had heard the Sonic Zest demos. Rather correct but I think we could do better. Always the same afterwards, you have to test, but that obviously means paying :)
    It would be good demos like at VSL precisely.
    I don't think that this kind of niche was targeted by VSL either, but as the solo libraries are still large enough to cover unusual instruments ...
    Same debate for the old instruments you mention.
    After that it is a matter of plebiscite! Maybe a little newsletter survey would show what proportion of people would be interested!
