  • (Problem Solved) Is there another way to install VI libraries without dongle?

    Hi -

As most probably know, there is (another!) server outage for the Steinberg dongle (that's used to activate the VSL virtual instruments and software). I just took advantage of the 35% discount program and upgraded from VSL's Symphonic Cube to their VI Super Package. Because of this server outage, I can not activate any of the instruments associated with this upgrade.

I'm sure that Steinberg will get their servers up and running again, eventually. But, I would like to start the long downloading process now. Is there ANOTHER way to activate the VIs associated with the Super Package?!? Is it possible to use my iLok instead of using's Steinberg's "License Control Center" dongle??

Thank you for any thoughtful feedback.

  • Hello Edward,

Congrats on getting the VI Super Package!

You can download all your instruments, but I'm afraid you will need a physical eLicenser key and your licenses for the next steps.

Sorry to have no better news, I hope this will be resolved today.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Best,
    Paul

Yes! As most probably know by now, Steinberg's License Servers are back up. Hopefully the servers won't fail again.

Paul - Thank you for your responses and in-put. I've already downloaded and "Activated" each license to the "virtual instrument" of the upgrade to your "VI Super Package". So, THAT is all set. Now, I'm downloading the actual "virtual instruments" which will take some time, but with the time well-spent. I like and use your products for my modest music-sequencing projects. I am one happy VSL User!

    Cheers! ðŸ˜ŠðŸŽµ
