  • SYzd Appassionata Strings and 'sul G'

    Hi,

While comparing the articulations of the old and new Appassionata Strings, I see the 'sul G' articulation seems to be missing from the Synchronized version. Is this right, or has this special legato been integrated in some other type of legato?

If not, isn't this a serious omission for this type of super-expressive strings library? Any chance it will be added later?

    Paolo

  • I also terribly miss a lot of other articulations from VI Appassionata Strings, such as the useful crescendos and diminuendos, staccato variations, harshes, legato slur, legato sfz and more.

Those are very great omissions and I wonder why VSL decided to remove them from Synchron-ized Appassionata Strings.

    Please bring them back.

  • Hi everybody,

    I understand what you mean.

Herb Tucmandl made these decisions in order to create stream-lined version of our products that allow a quick overview and high compatibility between sections.

I can't make any promises at this point, but we will discuss how we can "bring those articulations back" and integrate them with the SYNCHRON-ized versions.

    Best,
    Paul

Great, I'm looking forward to it!

Now I see! That 'sul G' thing is such a violinist's thing! Violoncellists have their singing 'sul A' in any case, and this makes them even more competitive! 😊

Great to know you are considering to include the missing articulations again. Appassionata Strings is your most expressive library ever, and they deserve any available expressive device.

    +1 for this!
