  • Just installed VE Pro, most plugins showing as greyed out / other

I just installed VE Pro 7 on a brand new Windows 10 machine, with a small number of plugins just installed via Native Access (Komplete Kontrol, Kontakt, Absynth, etc etc), yet only Kontakt shows up as a valid instrument in the plugins list.

Meanwhile, I have _tons_ of plugins showing in the Other category as greyed out.

I've already tried uninstalling/reinstalling, manually re-scanning specific plugins, etc to no avail.

    Any ideas?

  • I figured this out... I've been a Mac user for a long time and just recently build this Windows machine, and didn't realize that VLS installs a 32-bit and 64-bit version of the application, with the 32-bit one being somehow the default when I searched for the app in the start menu.

After carefully launching the 64-bit version, I can see most of the plugins I expect now.

Still, this is quite confusing for the end user -- that in 32-bit mode these would show up as greyed out in 'other', suggestions:

    1. VSL installer should reconsider what is the 'default' version of the app, or provide some help as part of the install explaining that 2 versions will be installed

    2. Rather than have the 32-bit version show these plugins incorrectly categorized as 'effects' in other, it should categorize them as 'Plugins only usable from 32-bit:'

  • Hi Awesine,

Glad you could resolve this, and sorry for the delay.

I have noted your request, hope we can make this clearer in a future update.

    Best,
    Paul
