  • Two computer setup and eLicensor for VEPro 7

    Hello!

Before I ask this question, I want to say that I'm new to VePro 7. I am using  two Windows 10 computers setup (Master/Slave) running VePro 7 Server on my Slave along with PLAY 6 and the EW Libraries. On my Master I am running Cubase Pro 11...

My question is do I need to open VePro 7 Server on my Master and let it run minimized while I use the VePro 7 plug in in Cubase on my Master? If so, will I need a second eLicense for the Master computer? I heard that with VePro 7 that the license activation has changed from previous versions and that you would have to have a eLicense for each computer now and not just for the server computer.

I apologize if this has been covered previously as I am new. I appreciate any feedback.

  • Hi, I know it's a pain for me not to answer your question, but I just bought a 2nd PC (windows 10 pro) and am trying to figure out how to network a master and slave.  Any chance you have some links you can share that will instruct me?

  • Hi ranow71,

You can now purchase licenses one by one with VE Pro 7, that's correct.

You only need a license and key for each computer you want to actually use the VE Pro Server (to load and use plug-ins).

You do NOT need another license / key for your master computer if you "only" want to connect to your networked computer - the VE Pro plug-in (that establishes this connection to the VE Pro Server) does not need a license to run.

    Best,
    Paul

    Hi Auggybendoggy,

You should find everything you need in the VE Pro 7 online manual!
