I'm running my libraries on a LaCie 6TB thunderbolt 2 drive currently, and would like to soup up performance (and get rid of fan noise). I don't have TB3 though, so looking at USB3 SSDs. Thinking about Oyen 4TB U32. Any advice or suggestions?

Side question - if I move to another drive do I just copy data from the old one then use Vienna DL manager or something to point VEP to the new location?

    Thanks!

yes and use Directory Manager, delete 1st location and re-assign

For your ssd, buy it on Amazon, do speed transfert test ; if the result is bad, send you SSD back to Amazon.

I have bought only well known brands ! OYEN ???????

Are you on Pc or on Mac ?

  • Thanks Cyril - I'm on Mac. Yeah I hear ya, I had never heard of Oyen but a film audio editor/mixer friend likes them and they're pretty well reviewed and stocked at B&H, so they seem pretty solid. Faster transfer speed promised than most. Other recs? I have a couple Glyphs I like but they don't make anything bigger than 2TB for USB SSD.
