  • I'm a designer, so don't ask me. It's nice, but could have been more. :P

The "dark" mode is even nicer! (Click on your account icon on the upper right and change the mode).

  • Something I’m not convinced of, in the new look of the forum, is how small the fonts are. On an iPad mini it is simply unreadable. And, unfortunately, not all the web browsers are allowed to change font size. So, at the moment, trying to access the forum from a mobile devic’è could be simply unfeasible.

  • I had to use Chrome as Safari v9.1.2 doesn't seem to work with the new look. I definitely prefer the dark look.

  • I have to report that the top bar doesn't fit the page in Safari on an iPad mini. I've not found a way to zoom it out to make the web page fit.

I'm trying to attach an image to show how it looks on my side.

  • Hi everyone!

Great to hear that you like the new design!
We worked on it for quite some time. We also tested it in combination with different devices and browsers.

To get the best experience for most users we had to cut support for older browsers, including Microsoft Internet Explorer, as well as not up-to-date browsers.

Safari is quite troublesome, but the site should work correctly with the latest version of Safari - at least it did in our tests. If you can't update to the latest version of Safari, I recommend to use an alternative browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, ...).

    Best, Ben

The example above is from the current version of Safari for iPad. I think the problem is that the page content can't reflow.

In Firefox for iOS (latest version, automatically updated from the App Store) not all the page fits, but more than in Safari, because the font shown by Firefox is very small. Since Firefox can't change the font size, the text is too small on an iPad mini.

Many thanks for the feedback. I see, i forgot a line of code in the forum's code, it should work now as expected.

Please note, that the main-page, including the forum, is still not optimized to be used with mobile devices.

The sites nice but it doesn't want to remember me as logged in. FYI, I'm using Chrome Version 91.0.4472.114 (Official Build) (x86_64)....annoying but not the end of the world..

This is true. For me, it works randomly, sometimes I'm logged in, sometimes not. I have the latest Safari version on Mac OS Big Sur.

  • you may notice this effect when switching between domains vsl.co.at and vsl.info - it has been decided, that some parts of the website should be moved to another domain and a technology, which does support a responsive design, but not our current authentication method. so you will find yourself authenticated on vsl.co.at whereas on vsl.info not.
