• À Bout De Souffle (Appassionata strings 1,2 library).

Hello, Glad to share this first post on the forum. Title "À Bout De Souffle" a creation composed for dance (Neo-classical). For information: this music was inspired by a story I lived: a boat trip that turned into a nightmare !. There are five musical tableaux (with their respective contextual explanations for those interested). Music composed with Vienna Symphonic Library. SE Vol (plus) 1,2,3,4. Epic Orchestra. Appassionata Strings I Library Update. Appassionata Strings II Library Update. Special Edition Library Update. Rev : MIRx Gateshead. 1er Tableau : Prologue. https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/4xn9E 2ème Tableau : Prémonition. https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/fo7MR 3ème Tableau : Adage. https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/TakHG 4ème Tableau : Ostinato. https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/Fjrgu 5ème Tableau : Final. https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/D8fMB Hoping that you like it. I await your feedback or questions (if I can answer them!).

  • Welcome Yves,

I admit that the title of your Suite caught my attention as a fan of the Nouvelle Vague. ;-) Nevertheless I liked your music a lot, even without any reference to Godard's famous movie. There are only a few, rare spots where these pieces exhibit their sampled nature. Especially the more quiet and seemingly "free", percussion-driven parts are enthralling. Congratulations!

In your liner notes you mentioned MIRx - The Sage Gateshead - Hall One. May I ask how much you changed and/or adapted these settings? Your mix sounds remarkably balanced and clear, yet vivid and deep (in the acoustic sense of the word).

    Thanks for sharing!

  • I am French, I use a translator. Thank you very much for your analysis. I understand that you hear from time to time, the sample more than the acoustic instrument, however I spent a lot of time to avoid this, but not enough a priori !!! (hence the interest in sharing on the forum). For the reverb if I bought the "MIRx - The Sage Gateshead - Hall One", it is because it is the most neutral (see the least flattering), and therefore easier to control during the final mix then masteuring (Cubase 10.5). I didn't touch anything except the "natural" tab that I checked (on Vienna ensemble Pro 7) in the reverb settings. thank you again for this feedback. Yves.

  • Il serait préférable pour nous tous de pouvoir communiquer dans notre langue maternelle, sans aucun doute. Mais le "dénominateur commun" de ce forum est l'anglais. :-) Merci pour l'effort de translation!

Great to hear that it was indeed MIRx presets that have brought you _that_ far. As the guy who created these settings I'm constantly plagued by doubts if it makes any sense at all to create a mix without hearing the music (so to speak). ;-)

    Thanks again for sharing!

  • Hello, Very flattered to have had this feedback from someone who contributes to the development of Mir reverbs on Vienna (if I understood correctly). Despite everything, thanks to your last post, I discovered that the title "A bout de souffle" already existed! However, I know Jean Luc Godard but unfortunately not this film, (being more sensitive to American cinema). It only remains for me to change the title, death in the soul !. good late afternoon yves
