  • MIR demo & hotspot

I got hold of a MIR 24 demo license, with the current promotion going on. I didn't opt for a room pack, since I wouldn't be able to afford that much at the moment.

Looking at the MIR tab in Ensemble Pro, I see a large concert hall stage represented, and I just assumed that I drag the instruments to where I want them to be, but I can move those harps no further left/right without straying from the hotspot. (They're part of an orchestra, and I want one mid-left, the other mid-right). Is that just because I don't have a room pack? Or have I missed something in the installation?

  • MIR Pro without a RoomPack is as useful as a sample player without samples. You won't be able make much use of it like that. What you see is just a start screen with one single impulse response available for quick tests, telling you that you need to load a Venue to get started.

  • PS: But don't despair - If you really can't / don't want to afford the additional cost for RoomPacks, there's always VSL's 14-days return policy when you bought your licence from this site.

  • Thank you, yes; I shall not despair, since I'm running the demo version. It has demonstrated... well, I have learned useful things, besides the system requirements :)
