  • Algorithmic reverb in Synchron Player vs. the master bus

    Hi,

Synchron presets include a "smoothing" algorithmic reverb in the aux bus. This is applied to all the mics, either the real ones in the Synchron libraries, or the simulated ones in the Synchronized libraries.

When doing the final mix of a piece, I usually apply a "smoothing" reverb to the final mix. Should I, in this case, deactivate the algorithmic reverb in the Synchron presets? I'm thinking that with them still on, I'll get an excessive layering of reverbs. And the function of the ones in Synchron Player should be replaced by the one I apply to the final mix.

  • Hi Paolo,

I would not disable them at all. Like with real recordings, where one would most likely add multiple layers of reverb during the entire process until the finished mix, that same concept applies to your samples. But, again, I would leave them enabled inside the Synchron Player as these have been fine-tuned for each single Mixer Preset you can load. Regardless, how much additional mixing and mastering is done on top of that has to be determined by the composer/mixing engineer on a case-to-case basis. But feel free to experiment.

    Best regards,
    Andreas
