  • How to configure VE Pro in Tracktion Waveform

I'm working on a classical symphony score in Dorico 3.5, using VE Pro 7 as the VST plugin (in VE Pro Server 64) to render the music.

The VE has 3 ports, each with 16 channels. (Port 1 has the woodwinds, 2 has the brass and percussion, 3 has the strings). Each "instrument" has its own channel, for example :

    • Port 1, channel 1: Flute 1
    • Port 1, channel 2: Flute 2
    • Port 1, channel 3: Piccolo
    • Port 1, channel 4: Oboe 1
    • Port 1, channel 5: Oboe 2
    • ...
    • Port 2, channel 1: Horn 1
    • Port 2, channel 2: Horn 2,
    • ...
    • Port 3, channel 1: Violins I, division 1
    • Port 3, channel 2: Violins I, division 2
    • ...

Everything works fine in Dorico. I export the corresponding MIDI file, and close Dorico (disconnecting the VE Pro Server). Then I load the MIDI file in Tracktion Waveform 11 (free version), and I load the VE Pro Server 64 plugin in Waveform. (That works.) However, I don't succeed in mapping the tracks in Waveform to the corresponding ports and channels: MIDI notes are are only sent to port 1 channel 1 (= Flute 1), and therefore only Flute 1 sounds, all other instruments remain silent.

Does anybody know how to connect the other channels in Waveform?
