  • download speed obviously low from VSL server side

    Hi

I just buyed the VSL super package. Means 645 GB download. Since i have a 80mb/sec download speed (tested actually many times with AVM zack) i was sure it will need about 6-10 hours.

But surprise ! The VSL server just deliver maximum of 10-15 mb/sec download speed. This is quite annoying. You should write BEFORE one click on "buy" that this is the maximum download speed and that downloading time for the whole package need about 2-3 days, even one have a very fast connection. And no, i download directly to a very very fast SSD (tested speed by HD-tune about 300mb/sec). So, it is not a hardware problem on my side.

So, first time experience with VSL = disappointed. Hopefully it will become more optimistic the next days when i start to work (after 2-3 days downloading) with VSL.

    regards

  • Hi!

Usually downloads are quite fast from our servers.

You should check if the torrent-protocol is blocked by your router or by your ISP.
In this case the downloader will fall-back to a slower download method.

  • Hi Ben

Thanx for your fast reply. I'm not a dummy concerning net stuff, but how exactly i should  check if the "torrent" protocoll is blocked (as far as i know torrent was used a lot for illegal downloads) and what can i do (change) as a workaround. Can i use a direct VSL IP adress for downloading ? would it change the downloadspeed. ?

  • Hello Eloibe,

Are you maybe working from a company or university access?

Such locations often block torrent-based downloads.

Of course the download speed also depends on the route the data takes (which we cannot influence).

  • Hi Ben

    Me "blush" ;-( ... I once more forgot 8 MBit = 1 Byte ;-) .... Ummmmm ....stupid me ....

So, sorry for the confusion, your servers were perfect fast ;-) ...

  • Once more Hi Ben ...

Another question. I am now in installing. It runs ok so far. But activating EVERY single library with the Elicenser (which worked fine) is a s...i ...t ...a ....;-). At least when you got the full library with 58 licenses.

So, here is the question. Is there a possibillity to have ONE FOR all licence number ?, just for the case i have to reinstall all the stuff some day. Should be possible in principal.

    Regards

    Eloibe

  • Hi Eloibe,

Unfortunately eLicenser doesn't offer a collection license or bulk registration. I'm afraid you'll have to go through this once.
