I am trying to load a Kontakt Multi (more than one instrument in a multi so I can reduce CPU load) in Vienna Ensemble 7. My DAW is LogicX (10.6.3).
If I load a number of instruments in an instance of Kontakt in Vienna Ensemble 7. All instruments sound at the same time. How do I route the different instruments so each instrument can be played by a separate midi track?
Regards

Add one plugin channel for Kontakt in Vienna Ensemble, set the midi channel to ALL.
Click the "+" sign at the bottom of this channel's fader to add subsequent instrument channels.
Make sure your instruments are assigned different midi channels within Kontakt. Set output routing in Kontakt for one stereo channel per instrument. Set the first instrument to midi channel 1, output 1, the next instrument midi channel 2 output 2 etc.
Hope my memory got this right, if not:

You will also generally get better performance by using separate kontakt instance for every instrument. Vepro can manage threads better that way.

dewdman42, since your comment appears to have significant consequences for thousands of Kontakt/VE Pro users, would you please elaborate, including at least one citation of an authoritative source for the technical basis of what you've said.
