  • Recent crashing of MIR Pro

Recently MIR Pro has taken to crashing often when I am trying to adjust the source width.

It seems to want to group instruments together without my intention and adjust the width parameters simultaneously (this is happening when I am selecting only one instrument at a time).

When this happens, MIR freezes for a few seconds, then quits.

Is there something I can do to fix this? Is this a known bug?

  • I should mention I am using MIR Pro in Nuendo 11 on a Windows 10 PC.

  • I use MIR Pro on a more or less identically set-up machine a lot, and I can assure you that this isn't happening regularly. :-)

Did you inadvertently activate the option for "Auto-grouping Selected Instrument Icons" in MIR's Preferences, by any chance ...?

  • Yes, I just turned that off and the animation box. Let's see if that does anything.

When I was trying to group things before, I would highlight which ones I want in the group on the instrument list on the left, then adjust them.

In these cases, I was not trying to group anything and I would make sure that only one thing was highlighted at a time (and also clicking on the background before selecting). When I would adjust the width on the new selection, it would adjust numerous instruments and I couldn't get them to ungroup (well, that is if it didn't crash first).

Just be aware that it doesn't seem to want to process adjusting the width (maybe other parameters, I do not know) of multiples at the same time, and in many cases it was only 3 or 4 instruments being inadvertently adjusted.

  • While I'm here...

Is there some way to turn off the volume adjustment on the sliding dot on the icons?

There are many times that I go to grab one to move it and the volume changes instead.

  • Sorry, but no, there isn't. As a workaround, you can alway "Hide" those Icons you don't need to change any longer.
