  • Synchron Woodwinds - Some dead notes in my DAW

    Hello,

There is something weird. C1 to F1 notes for the Bassons 3 / Contrabassoon & Bassoon 1 are dead in my DAW (Studio one 5). When I play them on my midi keyboard & in the S1 piano roll, there is no sound. Playback, there is no sound either. But when I click them in the Synchron player, the notes are ok.

This problem only occurs with Synchron WW. No problem at all with my other Synchron libraries.

Thank you for your asssitance. Cheers.

  • In Bassoons3, the notes C0-E0 are keyswitches and don't make any sound.  Perhaps check the middle C setting of StudioOne,  your controller and SynchronPlayer to make sure they are all setup to treat middle C the same way.  My guess is that when you think you are hitting C1, Synchron is receiving C0.

  • Unfortunately, it is not a problem with the middle C. In fact, it is a problem with the VST3 plugin, Studio one and Synchron WW. The VST2 plugin works fine in S1 with WW. VST3 plugin and all the other Synchron libraries (String pro, Elite, Brass, Strings FX) work fine in S1. Also, VST3 and Synchron WW work fine in Cubase 11. VSL, could you please test the VST3 plugin with S1 pro and the Synchron Woodwinds, a low patch (bassoon or contrabassoon), notes C1 to F1 ? Thank you very much.

@FrancoisD - Thank you for posting this. I have the exact same problem with Synchron Woodwinds, Studio One v5, and Synchron Player VST3. I had a conversation with VSL support earlier this week and was told they could not replicate the issue. Obviously, there truly is something going on to cause such a specific issue for us both.

Hopefully, VSL will look into this now that there are two instances of the issue. If you happen to find a solution, please post it. I will do the same.

    All the best to you.

  • I cannot replicate the problem with DP11.  So the problem must also be unique with S1 which I don't own so I can't try it.  Perhaps its related to the Sound Variations feature in some way.

  • Hello!

This problem comes from a wrong keyswitch assignment in the bass clarinet, bassoon 1 and contrabassoon presets in the "Custom" dimension. It only comes up with Studio One and the sound variations feature.

We will fix it with the next library update. In the meantime you can fix it yourself by assigning keyswitch C6 (with middle C = C4) instead of C2 in the "Custom" dimension.

    Best regards,
    Andi
