Vienna Instruments pro 2 wont validate in logic 10.7.2 on my M1 macbook air. When scanning audio units the plugin crashes Logic. ive tried uninstalling and  reinstalling multiple builds of VIP2 but nothing works. Ive been trying for over a week. Contacted support and they had me trash a bunch of preference files, uninstall reinstall but so far its been no help. Any suggestions appreciated.

    MacBook Air M1 2020

    OS Big Sur 11.3.1

  • so here i am its week 4 and i still dont have vienna instruments pro working in Logic. without this plugin i will not be able to open any of my sessions or templates. im pretty screwed here and no one has helped. VERY DISCOURAGING.

  • I am sorry to hear that you are having such trouble.

Unfortunately, I am not sure what exactly the problem in your case is. All I can confirm is that VI pro runs fine on a 2020 M1 Macbook Air in Logic 10.7.2 in my case.

I would guess the VSL team can give you some advice what else you could try to figure out the problem and eventually make it work (e.g. preferences files could be damaged, ...).

  • thanks for the info. Good to know that someone actually got it working.. Are you on big sur?  Ive contacted VSL support and after some back and forths, they couldnt figure it out then they were supposed to get back to me but never did.

  • Yes I'm also still on Big Sur (11.5.1) and use the most recent VI pro version (2.5.18664).

I hope the VSL team will get back to you soon to solve this issue.

  • It is also working for me on an M1Max running Monterey.  But I did have some difficulty initially.  Logic wouldn't run at all until I removed the AUV3 file in the /Applications/Vienna Ensemble Pro folder.  Once I did that, then Logic ran fine and attempted to validate all the plugins.  It failed the first attempt for VI Pro 2.  But when running it again in the Plugin manager, then it passed and is working fine since.
