  • Using Synchronized Solo Strings in VE Pro & Cubase

    Hi All

I've been using Dorico & VE Pro for my Solo Strings projects but have decided to use Cubase 11 Pro coz I read somewhere on this forum that you get better results using a DAW like cubase rather than a notation program (I've owned Cubase since ver 7 but rarely use it).

My setup is to use VE Pro for my SS library. I'm trying to use keyswitches in Cubase but can't seem to get them to work. I had assumed I would just add the appropriate notes in the key editor in cubase and take it from there. I put in C1, F#1 and C2 to get Single Notes, Long Notes and Sustain in the Synchron player but nothing happens. I can't even see the keys in the Synchron player responding to the notes - it's as if it doesn't recognise them.

Am I missing something obvious? Thanks for any help, Colin D.

  • Just realised the Steinberg sets C3 as middle C so at least I've solved that problem. Sofar as I can tell, there's no way of changing this in Cubase. Maybve in an expression map? Thanks.

    Hi Colin,

You can set the middle C in your Vienna Instruments Settings and Synchron Player Settings.

    Does that help?

    Best,
