  • [SOLVED] Studio One Sound Variations

    Hello,

I just updated to Studio One 5 and I have the latest version of the Synchron player installed.  I've watched a few videos on how the sound variations work, but I cannot get them to respond in my project.  I load an instance of synchron player, add an instrument and I can see the sound variations lane in the edit panel.  I input a few notes to test, and an able to click on them and select - long, short, whatever, but there is no change in the articulations when I play back.   I can see the changes in the edit lane and I do see the folders, and have activation sequence selected.

I do see there is an option for UACC and UACC - KS.  I have UACC selected.

Any advice would be appreciated, as I am stuck on how to get this to work.

    Thank you.

    Mike

  • Hello Mike,

Are you using Studio One on an Apple-silicon Mac? I had the same problem and it was due to the fact that this feature unfortunately only works with VST3 and the VST3 Synchron Player does not run natively on the new Macs. In this case you can get it to work if you run Studio One in the Rosetta emulation mode (ckecking the corresponding box in the Studio One file information window), but this slows down everything and is therefore (at least for me) not really a viable option.

    Hope this helps

  • Hello Kai,

Yes, I am using an iMac.  Sorry I forgot to post that.

Thank you very much - that is disappointing, as it would be an awesome feature to be able to use, but I do appreciate knowing what the problem is.  I'll have to find a workaround for this.

Thank you again - you have been very helpful!

  • Hello again,,

I just checked - I do not have an apple silicon Mac - it is an intel.  I bought it well before they started the silicon Macs.

    Any other ideas?

    Hi Mike,

Please send us the piece you are working on, we'll take a look: support@vsl.co.at

I assume that you have installed the latest Synchron Player.

  • Thank you everyone - I realized what I did wrong.  I was loading the VST 2 and not the VST 3 version of the Synchron player.  Totally a mistake on my part.  Everything is fine now.

Wow - what an amazing feature sound variations are!!

    Thanks again for the input.
