  • The Forbidden Path

    Hello VSL Community,

    It's been a while!

I wanted to share my new single with you: it's called The Forbidden Path and it came out today.

As usual, it's mostly VSL of course.

I would be pleased to hear what you think.

    Best regards

    Francesco

  • Incredible production, Francesco!  Dramatic, atmospheric, and should appeal to a wide audience.  You should share your secret sauce with me so that I may stop wasting my time writing what I write :) lol

    Congratulations!

Thank you so much Dave for your kind words, I really appreciate it! ðŸ˜Š

As per the secret sauce, honestly, my source of inspiration is either epic power metal such as Rhapsody (before they became Rhapsody of Fire) or symphonic black metal such as Dimmu Borgir (the time when Mustis was around, 2005 ca, check out Death Cult Armageddon if you haven't).

Their intros are my bread and butter and shaped my sound more than any film composer or classical composer that I listened to over the years, I think...... lol

    All the best

    Francesco

  • Hi Francesco,

This is absolutely great in every way: as to composition, orchestration, building up... and of course the detailed and beautiful footage. I especially like the use of the choir as a fine addition of delicate emotion and timbre.

Very well done and certainly accessible to a large audience without being common or vulgar.

    Congratulations!
