  • eLicenser server down again

    The move to iLok will be welcome, and the sooner the better... been trying to activate some VSL libraries for some time now, and they fail.

    At least VSL should immediately post a note on their website saying the server is down - otherwise we waste too much time fiddling around, thinking there might something wrong with our hardware.

    I'm also waiting to activate a new sample set from them........ Ghrrrrgh!

    Cubase 12 has been released today... I suppose they were overloaded with license and grace-periods requests... so yes, evidence of bad service again, hopefully not shared by iLock in the future.

    Sorry about the inconvenience, Cubase 12 really got in the way there (and no, we didn't get any notifications or warnings from Steinberg. 

    Should be much better now, these troubles usually don't last long.

  • Online elicenser synch & maintenance system still isn't functioning this morning - well over 12 hours now!

    Do hope VSL can accelerate transfer to iLok as this is not a satisfactory situation.

    It is not a satisfactory situation indeed. 

    Our assumption is that Steinberg has a grace period upgrade procedure that gets you a free upgrade if you bought Cubase in the last 2-3 months. All of this works with the eLicenser system, and I think that's most likely the cause of the drop-out. 

    Once the license server is not working under full pressure and has worked off all incoming tasks, this will be better. 

    Meanwhile, we're getting closer to the long-awaited iLok release.

    There's NOTHING running on my system!

    The clock is ticking on my 30 day demo of MIR PRO, but I can't download any Room Packs.

    You guys really need to get it together. I am a long time customer, with nearly every library you have. Sad...

    Sorry to hear about these troubles. 

    We're doing our best to "get it together". It's not always easy if 3rd party systems overload or if you rely on 3rd party software updates. 

    Anyway, we're going through this with a smile!

    Please try this workaround: 

    1) Close all VSL software
    2) Open the Synchron Library Installer you find in your Applications => Synchron Player
    3) Point it to the package.info file your find in you downloaded MIR RoomPacks folder. 
    4) This will start the installation process.

  • Sorry, that doesn't work... It's an eLicenser error. eLicenser thinks there is a VSL app running (whatever the hell M6 is), but there are NO OTHER APPLICATIONS AT ALL running on the system.

  • Is the license server currently down?

    I successfully installed another VSL library last week no issues.  But the one I bought right now won't install due to license server not working...  See screencap below.  Yes, I have restarted.

  • Yep, it's not available. I tried eLicenser maintenance as well and it failed (can't contact to server).

    I can't activate the 2nd instruments in Synchron Woodwinds. Also I downloaded the MIR Pro demo last week, but haven't been able to activate any room packs. Can't test it, and the clock is ticking...

    VSL, as a Steinberg customer, should be escalating this and keeping its users aware of what's happening... i's not right to keep us in the dark. Sent an email to VSL support and heard nothing.

    The move to iLok can't happen soon enough!


  • Has it really been down since March 2, 4 days ago?  Or has it been up and down throughout?


  • I haven't tried constantly, but I have tried several, like 10 times a day over that time & haven't been successful.

    Also, heard from VSL and they said to launch eLicenser standalone to activate. The auto launch from VSL Download Manager isn't working on my system (Big Sur), and both software apps are the most current available. Strange... but at least workable for now. Thanks
