  • [SOLVED] VE can't scan plugins in Monterey

I've just upgraded to an M1 running Monterey.

Vienna Ensemble seems unable to scan for plugins. It's been trying to for about three consecutive hours now (I'm a believer). I've granted it full permissions to trawl the Finder in the System Preferences, and still nothing.

VIP is working correctly in both standalone and when hosted.

  • This sounds like an issue I am also having. I am also running Monterey.

This morning, I was prompted to install a VE update. I did so. Now, when VE starts, it hangs on "scanning plugins" for hours.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for reporting!

I can reproduce this, we will take care of it!

  • Is there a solution to the "scanning plugins" issue yet?

I was having so many issues with VSL (in addition to this one) that I completely reinstalled my OS (Monterey) and did a refresh install of Sibelius and all the VSL products (using Vienna Assistant). I wanted to make sure any erroneous configuration files and so forth were deleted.

I am still having the VE "scanning plugins" issues. Now, VE is showing that I have no plugins available. I assume this because VE is unable to complete the scanning process. So I am currently unable to use VSL at all.

  • I'm having the same issue in Big Sur 11.6.5, newest version of VE 7.1.79

  • Newest version seems to have fixed this problem. Thanks!

  • Yes, thanks a lot, team!
