  • Problems with iLok

    Hi Folks,

I can't use iLok because a permanent Internet connection leads to latency issues on stage.

I tried to avoid activation of iLok - but trying to activate BBO I thought that I can convert just "single" licenses to iLok.

Suddenly all licenses got converted and I am doomed now. iLok is a night mare: I can't use w/o high latency, I have to re-download ALL my instruments?

How can I roll-back to vienna key please?

I will try to use vienna key as long as it works and after I don't know :-(.

Question: Is there a way to use a hardware dongle with iLok w/o Internet connection?

What are your experiences with the new iLok system?

    Galuwen

Galuwen

  • I have not been able to navigate ilok or any installs of the free instruments. Seems like VSL has gone from a complicated system to download and install new products to an even more complicated system. I sure wish the install prompts or text windows might use more clear definitions about what to do and how to navigate this. This is not intuitive. How about "click here to download", "click here to authorize". I have downloaded the VSL assistant,I have my VSL account logged in,  I have my ilok accounts (been using ilk for years). Still major problems and way too difficult to deal with. Come on VSL...geezsh..

Yes, that is possible. ILok has a dongle, and it is simple (drag and drop) to move licenses from the Cloud session to the iLok dongle. After that you don't need a internet connection to use the libraries, from which the licenses are on the dongle.
    Good luck!
