  • Synchron Player doesn't see samples

    Hi

    I'm in the process of switching from elicenser to ilok...thus I am doing fresh download on all VSL libraries.

    I have 2 slaves running Ensemble Pro 7....all libraries are running correctly on these.

    I have Synchron Player on the main comp. I have installed Synch Player version 1.12.

    I have SY-zed Woodwinds/SY-zed Dimension Brass 1 and Synchron Elite Strings, all libraries DL'd and on an SSD Drive....

    I run Synchron Player Standalone, go into the Database Tab and add the folders containing the above libraries

    [eg "G:\VSL Synchron Data\Synchron Elite Strings - iLok"]   However, SY Player doesn't load the library, even on a restart.

    FYI, all the  files in each folder have a ".syvolume" extension.

    Hope you can help!


  • So my sample file locations are in the database scan paths, then restart the plugin, still no sign of the instruments under "Factory"??

  • You probably just need to activate them in the iLok Manager

  • Are you using the ILok versions yourself.

    I'm switching from elicenser to ILok [cloud for now]

    One thoughts:

    There is no Synchron Player in my licenses...should there be??


  • OK, making some progress...the problem seems to be in the 3 computer setup.

    In elicenser-land, I had 3 Ensemble Pro 7 licenses, on different dongles on different computers.

    There are 3 EP7 licenses on the cloud now, all activated.

    The 3 computers are now looking for a license, but not seeing the multiple ones on the cloud, if that makes sense???


  • Grasping at straws here as I only use a single computer.

    Open iLok's FAQ https://www.ilok.com/#!support/help/102029544

    Select "How does the iLok Cloud work?" and then "What happens if open my iLok Cloud on two different computers?"

    "Only one iLok Cloud Session can be used at a time per iLok Account. If an iLok Cloud is opened on a different computer, the first iLok Cloud session will be logged out."

    So maybe you need to create separate accounts for each computer you're using???  

    Maybe contact iLok support and ask what they suggest.

    Yes I have discovered that to run slave computers, I need at least 1 I-lok key.

    I have ordered 2, as I have three computer stations - Master + 2 Slaves.

    I must say I believe it was somewhat disingenuous of VSL - their videos say "You'll be transferred and up to speed in  no time...." While there is a mention of the requirement for a key/ keys, it should be more up-front...I wasted quite a bit of time sorting it out [I currently have 1 slave on I-lok cloud, and 1 on e-licenser....]

    I have Synchron player and some Synchron-ised libraries on my master computer, but am not sorted out there yet... While the three Ensemble Pro7 licenses show up in Ilok manager, the Synchron player doesn't??

  • Hey, if this were easy, Andy, think of how many IT people would be out of jobs!

    When you say that the "Synchron player" doesn't show up in iLok manager... I only use the Synchron pianos but the player doesn't show in the manager, only the libraries do.

    For each library, there is an option as to whether it is attached to a dongle or to the cloud.

    Are you looking at the top item in the license manager for all licenses, or at what's been enabled in your cloud account in the lower left section?

    If your libraries don't show as available in your iLok account, have you checked in your VSL profile to make sure it says they've been transferred to iLok?
