  • Cuabse 12 MIR3D Tabbed rooms

    Hi Dietz,

I am experimenting using tabbed venues with Cubase 12(Windows11) and the VST3 plugin.

I place the brass in the first tabbed venue (NRF HALL wide) and the strings in the second tabbed venue (ORF Studio 2).  The problem I have is that when I close Cubase and then MIR3D and reopen the project all of the instruments are in the first tabbed venue and the second is empty. For some reason the location in the second tabbed venue is not being saved with the project.

    Can you check this?

    Thanks,

    Dave

    Hi Dave,

I just checked pretty much the identical setup (although under Windows 10), but I can't reproduce the issue. I'll attach my small test project to this posting. Please counter-check.

If the issue persists please get in contact with support@vsl.co.at, including as many details as possible (computer, OS, software- and driver-versions ... you know the drill 😉...), and with a short reference to this forum thread.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Dietz,

I was able to open your project multiples times with no issues. The problem seems to be the number of instruments in each venue. I used your project to create a project that has 8 instruments in each venue. Now the problem can be recreated I believe, try for yourself. Open the project place 8 instruments into each venue, save the project close it and MIR3D. Reopen the project and all of the instruments will be in the same venue.

Hmmmm - I tried to reproduce the problem exactly as you described (this time in Nuendo 12 under MacOS), but I didn't get a single corrupted session so far. Will try with Cubase 12 under Windows in the studio tomorrow.

  • Ok Thanks,

I let vsl support know. Hopefully you will be able to reproduce it in Cubase 12 (12.0.30).

  • OUCH! This seems to be a Windows-specific bug indeed! 8-/ I can reproduce the issue here, even with a newly created Cubase (or Nuendo) project.

I have no idea when this crept in. I have several sessions created with earlier software builds that didn't exhibit this behaviour, and like mentioned before: It's not happening on Mac at all, it seems.

Thanks for reporting, and sorry for the trouble.

  • PS: VSL's software developers are already aware of the issue. Thanks for your patience!

  • That's good news Dietz,

Any chance this will be fixed in the next update. I love the idea of using different microphones for different sections, it give the user more control over the envelopment of different sounds of the Orchestra. The new software is brilliant by the way.

  • The bug itself is already fixed, an update should be available in the near future. Watch this space for the latest news, please.

    Thanks again for your patience!
