  • MIR 3D and VE Pro

I recently upgraded to MIR 3D but I cannot figure out how to add it to VE Pro.  I used to have it so MIR would automatically open when I opened VE Pro.  Has something changed?  How can I add it to instruments in VE Pro?

    Thanks,

    Mike

  • Hi Michael,

there seems to be a problem indeed. I already made VSL's developers aware of the issue.

As a workaround please add MIR 3D from the FX-plugins pull-down. Sorry for the inconvenience!

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Michael,

I know that VSL's software engineers are already aware of the issue. I seem to remember a message that there's a solution on its way, but there was no official statement yet, sorry to say so.

    Thanks for your patience!

  • Greetings!

I would like to add a comment to this post, since I had the same issue: yesterday, after upgrading my studio computer to MIR PRO 3D, the MIR 3D Server application would not launch and I was unable to select a venue. This would happen in both, my notation program/VEPro7 server and  my DAW with the MIR 3D Plugin. The Plugin panel would open normally, but without launching the 3D Server. As suggested by Dietz, I also tried to add MIR 3D from the FX Plugins menu, without success.I then decided to go to C:/Program Files/Vienna Mir Pro 3D/Vienna Mir Pro 3D.exe (Windows 10 Pro) and manually trigger the MIR Pro3D.exe application by double clicking it. This procedure launched the MIR PRO 3D server, and I was able to work normally in VEPRO and in my DAW. Today I worked with VEPRO, the DAW, and MIR 3D without any issues, and it was not necessary to do the manual procedure anymore!

  • Hi and welcome Octavio,

that's really interesting, thanks for reporting. I'll make sure that VSL software developers will take notice of this - possibly important - detail.

    Enjoy MIR 3D! :-)

  • Hi Dietz:

Greetings from Rio! I am glad my comments may be of interest to the Vienna team. And congratulations on the MIR software! I am enjoying very much to learn and work with it. As a matter of fact the Vienna products have been my very good music companions for the past several years!

  • Hello. I finally switched all the VSL products I have, to iLok. Now I have the same issue. VEP and MIR pro 3D integration seems not working. Even I don't see MIR pro plugin on the list. Could someone help? This issue has not been solved yet?

I tried and reinstalled both the products. but the problem persists.
MIR Pro plugin seems to be installed fine and can run on NI Kontrol.
The plugin launches MIR Pro 3D Server fine.

  • Hi Kenji,

please get in contact with support@vsl.co.at , including as many details about your system as possible. I'm sure VSL's support team will be able to sort out the issue swiftly. :-)

  • Thanks, Dietz!

It was quick! The problem has been solved!!

just "reset and rescan all" plugins under the preference solved the issue.
I thought reinstalling would have "reset and rescan all" plugins anyway.
But glad it was easy to solve.

I love this change having a separate window of MIR instead of tab or floating window of VEP.
Especially, I've had an issue with the old MIR drawing its window inside of VEP tab (gray out).

    Thanks! :D

  • That's good to hear! Thanks for your friendly feedback.

    Enjoy MIR 3D! :-)
